Player stability, CORS-safe streaming & better catalog filtering
Fixes infinite re-renders in the player bar (#301), routes all audio through a CORS-safe Jamendo stream proxy to eliminate playback errors, enriches sparse search results with cached tags, and expands Portuguese/Brazilian phonk detection so the catalog filter catches more regional tracks. All 59 regression tests pass.
Phonq 1.0 — The full rewrite
Phonq is rebuilt from the ground up as a modern Next.js platform. Global audio player with live waveform, favorites, playlists, listening history, Google OAuth sign-in, a live 500K+ track catalog from Jamendo, and a complete public website.
Custom audio player & visualization
The original prototype shipped a hand-rolled HTML5 player with canvas waveform rendering, queue management, playback modes and localStorage-backed stats.
Project paused & archived
The legacy static build was archived. Development resumes later as a full rewrite. This page tracks the entire journey.
